I’ve lived in several states over the years, grew up in New York, lived in Tennessee, Iowa, and Nebraska.
I worked in the lumber and construction field from 1989 until 2002 and decided on a career change when I was living in Nebraska. I’ve always been interested in computers and technology, and at the time wanted to stay in the construction field.
My first choice when I decided to go to school was for a CAD degree so that I could continue in the construction field, but when I went to the school and we talked about what direction I would take, I decided on a completely different route.
I went into the Computer Network Systems program, it took me about 3 years, and got my degree in June 2005. My first few jobs were help desk positions, and as I gained more experience I wanted to expand on it and grow with the technology. I eventually started working in a Network Operations Center, and enjoyed the day to day challenges that came with that type of position.
I moved to Phoenix a little more than a year ago, to continue with a career that I really enjoy. I felt Phoenix was a great place to live, and the Technology companies here abound. I am on a search for my next great career opportunity, and do want to stay in this area.
Some of my interests include hiking, geocaching, bicycling, travel, networking, social media, and these are also things I will blog about from time to time.
